Nourishing communities through the joyful preparation of good food.
What we do
At Community Meal Prep Club, we gather groups together to prepare vibrant, delicious meals for donation. In partnership with local food security organizations and mission-driven kitchen spaces, we join the effort of ending hunger in our communities.
Emphasizing quality and dignity
We integrate seasonal nutrient-dense recipes, plan menus that cater to dietary needs, and work with local farms whenever possible. Meal recipients can choose from high-qualtity meals that are culturally responsive and customized for different diets. Thank you to Wright-Locke Farm for subsidizing the cost of fresh produce for our programming!
Building community around good food
We work in teams to collectively prepare on average 100 meals in a three-hour class. We believe that the joy experienced in the kitchen can be felt in the meals. As part of the event, we build in time for connection, and provide abundant snacks and beverages that are customized for the dietary needs of the group.
Strengthening cooking skills
through service
Community Meal Prep Clubs are a meaningful way to build culinary skills. Beginner-friendly classes are led by a experienced chef who is available to provide tailored instruction, answer questions, and lead mini-demonstrations. Participants try new and interesting recipes that they can later make at home for family and friends.
“I’m so happy that we made such great meals for others to enjoy!
Your organization of these events makes it extremely joyful to participate.
Thanks for going the extra miles behind the scenes to make this happen.”
— Shannon M, Community Meal Prep Club participant
